ETS Connect UK today announced that it has submitted its application for authorisation to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in relation to the operation of the UK bond Consolidated Tape (CT). This step represents an important milestone in the progression of the UK bond CT towards implementation.
Authorisation is a formal regulatory requirement for the operation of the CT. ETS Connect UK will continue to work closely with the FCA throughout assessment to ensure that all regulatory obligations are met in a timely and transparent manner. The submission reinforces ETS Connect UK’s commitment to advancing delivery in accordance with the agreed plan.
We have been able to move quickly to submission of our authorisation application because we made early, concrete commitments in funding, in people, and in technology. We have already deployed an experienced team, invested our own capital, and developed an existing market-data platform to support the UK bond consolidated tape. That level of preparedness allows us to move at pace, with our focus on execution rather than aspiration.
James Haskell, Chief Operating Officer at Etrading Software
In parallel with the authorisation submission, ETS Connect UK continues to advance the wider delivery work, including publication of technical specifications, onboarding preparation, and formation of the Consultative Committee. These activities ensure that development proceeds at pace and that industry stakeholders have clear visibility of progress in alignment with the published timeline for the go-live on 22 June 2026.
